Overview & History
H&E has traditionally been a commercial Property Services company and was started by Theo & Keri Ferreira in 2007. Theo Ferreira gained valuable experience as a commercial property broker for 6 years and Keri Ferreira headed up the Professional Client Book at Investec Bank in Port Elizabeth before they started H&E. Due to pressure from existing clients a residential division was established early in 2015 and this division is already showing strength-to-strength momentum.
H&E is a small but very successful and client-centric company that covers the following areas of service:

• Residential & Commercial Leasing
• Property Management
Apart from the Principals, Theo and Keri Ferreira, Home & Equity employs 2 administration staff, 3 commercial brokers, 4 residential brokers and 2 general staff members. The Principals are totally hands-on to ensure that projects taken on are projects successfully executed.

Sales
We pride ourselves in finding the most suitable properties for our clients by sifting through all available options and cold calling on others. Amongst our clients are Eveready, Interwaste, Mohair SA, McDonalds SA and Toyota.
For McDonalds SA we have managed to secure 5 developments up to date. Three of these have been in Port Elizabeth and one each in as far afield as Kimberley and Queenstown. Our services for this client involved in more than one instance negotiating the sale of multiple properties, amalgamation of these properties, environmental impact studies as well as rezoning.;
Our services also include the sourcing and sales of investment properties such as Ascott Office Park, industrial land and industrial warehousing.

Leasing
Home & Equity covers all aspects of commercial property leasing being retail, office and industrial.
Some of our main achievements include:
Moffett On Main Shopping Centre - conceptualisation and successful leasing of 20000m2 shopping centre under very difficult circumstances.
Metlife Mall Redevelopment - Almost a third of this shopping centre stood vacant for 2 years after Game vacated. Eventually Home & Equity was given the mandate to rescue the situation and we manage to fill the redeveloped space with tenants such as Fruit & Veg City and Pick n Pay Clothing.

Management
Home & Equity manages a small portfolio for a select number of clients, but we have excelled in this area.
We have successfully turned around struggling properties such as the Mercado Shopping Centre and with other properties such as Elizabeth House, we have successfully negotiated better rates with the Municipality after we found that it was incorrectly rated.
Again our hands-on approach ensures excellent service for our clients.
